The Bombay High Court on Tuesday rejected the parole application filed by the 1993 serial blasts convict Abu Salem. The gangster and terrorist who is serving life sentence, from 2005, for involving in serial Mumbai blasts, which killed 257 people & injured 713, had sought 45 days parole to marry a Mumbra based Kausar Bahar.
The Commissioner of Navi Mumbai earlier denied parole to Abu Salem in April month citing the security reasons. Abu Saleem's advocate Farhana Shah then challenged it in Bombay High Court where he's denied the parole again. In the past, Kausar had threatened to kill herself if officials fail to grant parole to Salem, who claims that he married her over phone while on a train journey in 2014.
Salem married a 17-year old college girl in 1991 and later maintained an affair with Bollywood actress Monica Bedi. Bedi also served jail sentence for procuring a fake passport and entering Portugal on forged documents.
