Apparently, eyeing to lure nearly 30 per cent youth in Andhra's total population ahead of 2019 elections, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched "Mukyamantri Yuvanestam" scheme under which government will pay monthly unemployment allowance of Rs 1,000 each to unemployed youth in the state.
Despite the state is facing huge financial crisis, Chandrababu took the decision to extend unemployment allowance to all job less youth aged between 22 and 35 putting Rs 8,000 crore additional burden on state exchequer every month.
State IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that registration of unemployed under the scheme will begin in third or fourth week of August. Within 15 days after the registration, allowance money will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.
Chandrababu made the promise of providing unemployed dole to every jobless and the same was included in TDP's 2019 election manifesto. Lokesh said claimed his government fulfilled all promises made in the last elections.
