As a token of gratitude, members of Bharata Jaateeya Hijra Hakkula Aikya Porata Sangham are building a temple for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in Nandyal, Kurnool district. A 10 kilo silver statue of Chandrababu will be installed inside the temple.
AP Tourism Minister Bhuma Akhila Priya performed bhumi puja for the temple in Nandyal town yesterday. The association's representatives met with Babu and got his green signal for the temple. The temple will be built with a whopping Rs 2 crores collected from donations.
The temple is being built as a thank you gesture to Babu for sanctioning a monthly pension of Rs 1500 to each transgender. Babu will also provide pucca houses and ration cards. The Chandrababu Naidu government has also allotted Rs 20 crore in the state budget for the welfare of transgenders.
