Mumbai: 53 Journalists Test Positive for Corona

Even before one come to terms with the fact that 40 Kerala nurses working in Mumbai's two hospitals were tested positive for Covid-19 and another 13 doctors and medical staff, here is yet another such mass community transfer in Mumbai.

53 journalists in Mumbai were tested positive for Corona Virus and the number is likely to go up, officials confirmed on Monday. The tests were conducted to 167 journalists of which 53 were tested positive. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) health committee members inform that the number of journalists with Covid-19 could increase as they are interacting with a lot of people and publishing stories in this crucial times.

Shiv Sena leader and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's health committee member Amey Ghole confirmed the news to HuffPost India. "Out of 167 samples, 53 have come positive for COVID 19. The number could go up," Amey Ghole said. These 53 journalists include reporters, cameramen of news channels and photojournalists.

Officials are now tracing the contacts of these 53 journalists and their families are also being traced to stop the rapid transfer.
