Corona In US: New York Morgues Reach Maximum Capacity

The New York state has been seeing the grim numbers with a huge rise in infected cases and death every day. While the health experts and federal staff have enough worries about ventilator scarcity and lack of beds, here is new trouble coming their way.

The morgues in New York will be reaching their maximum capacity by next week. New York City has not seen this sort of mass casualties after 9/11. Running out of morgue space is something that will turn a major concern with growing deaths and infections at a rapid rate.

New York has reportedly requested for emergency morgue assistance already, like Hawaii and North Carolina already asked for, the disaster response agency is looking in the requests raised. Earlier during Hurricane Katrina and the 9/11 incidents, George Bush's administration arranged for mortuary assistance with temporary morgues.

As per the latest update, by late afternoon of Saturday in the US, the number of confirmed cases is 121,117, in which New York has the highest with 52,410 cases and 728 deaths. New Jersey has 11,124 confirmed cases with 140 deaths.
