Corona In New York: 25,665 cases, Spread At Shocking Speed

With the alarmingly growing numbers of positive coronavirus cases in the US, the New York state is registering way too higher numbers than other states and according to the reports, the virus case count is doubling every three days there. If New York were a country, it would have been on #6 position in the world with the number of Coronavirus cases, if #1 has the highest.

New York Governor Cuomo revealed the numbers as on Tuesday and as per them, there are 25,665 positive cases in New York state and of which 14776 cases are located in the city. At least 210 deaths and of which 131 from the city alone, have been linked to coronavirus.

As per the Governor's reports, 3324 patients are currently hospitalized and 756 of those are in ICU. The rate of hospitalization in New York state is at 23 percent.  

The New York state needs more than 30,000 ventilators, though it already procured 7000. The federal government provided 400 ventilators, which is now a minute number to that of the needed. When the Governor commented on 400 ventilators provided by the government, Vice President Mike Pence said that the Govt has shipped 2000 to New York on Tuesday and 2000 more will be coming on Wednesday.

On the other side, there are only 53000 beds are available while the state needs 140,000 hospital beds to house virus patients and up to 40000 ICU beds could be needed.
