Covid-19: US Man Dies After Taking Chloroquine, Wife Critical

Chloroquine is the drugs used in the treatment of Malaria, while the likes of Hydroxychloroquine Sulphate are used to treat rheumatoid arthritis. And these names started ticking on headlines with US President Donald Trump's tweet.

"HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE & AZITHROMYCIN, taken together, have a real chance to be one of the biggest game-changers in the history of medicine," Donald Trump tweeted last Saturday, giving hope to many. And then, both the FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA) and WHO stated that clinical research should be done, while other day they have mentioned that the two drugs have shown efficiency in test tubes.

But a time these researches and discussions are happening, a 60-year-old man and his wife from Arizona, USA, got ingested with chloroquine in a bid to prevent Coronavirus from affecting them, have fallen immediately sick. While the man breathed his life at a hospital, his wife's condition still seems to be critical.

Meanwhile, some of the drugs like a combination of lopinavir-ritonavir which is used by China to treat coronavirus pneumonia patients haven't shown any impact. These drugs are actually used to treat HIV patients, and Indian doctors claimed that they have cured Italian tourists at a Jaipur hospital using the same drugs.
