'Chloroquine Could Be One Option to Cure Covid-19'

Malaria drug will be one of the treatment options in coronavirus clinical trial, WHO officials say.

US President Donald Trump had been saying that the combination of Malaria drug Chroloquine and Ezythromycin can be used to treat potential coronavirus treatment, but many doctors in the US have opposed the claims.

The latest reports indicate that WHO officials said that Chloroquine will be one option included in a large clinical trial evaluating coronavirus treatment. WHO chief scientist Dr, Soumya Swaminathan said there are some indications that it could be useful but that needs better research to prove or disprove that Chloroquine is effective.

The same is said by the FDA after Trump announced Chloroquine as an approved treatment, that larger studies are needed to conclude on it yet.
