Corona Virus : India's First Death Confirmed!

The corona virus has claimed an Indian. As suspected, the Karnataka man who had died earlier this week was found to have Covid-19. His test sample results tested by National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune confirmed that the result was positive. With this, India has registered its first fatality of Covid-19.

Going into details, Karnataka man Mohammed Hussain Siddiq, who died of Corona, was 76. Siddiq had traveled to Saudi Arabia and returned home on Feb 29. Subsequently, he had complained of breathlessness, cold and cough. He was admitted to hospital on 5th March at a hospital in Kalaburagi, of Karnataka.  He died on 10th March late night.

Karnataka Health Minister B Sriramulu confirmed that Siddiq died of Corona. He wrote, "The 76 year old man from Kalbauragi who passed away & was a suspected #COVID19 patient has been Confirmed for #COVID19. The necessary contact tracing, isolation & other measures as per protocol are being carried out."

Meanwhile, the Covid-19 positive cases in India have touched 73. With this, Union Government has come up with restrictions and recommendations to stop the spread of Corona. Various schools, theatres are shut in some parts of the country including Kerala, New Delhi and Karnataka. The government has asked people to follow thorough safety measures.
