MLA's father still runs a roadside puncture shop

Praveen Kumar, who won second time on an AAP ticket from the Jangpura assembly constituency in Delhi by defeating BJP's Imreet Singh has his father PN Deshmukh now living with all the country and media attention. And, it is not due to his son's triumph but for his own profession. To be precise, Deshmukh runs a roadside tyre-repair shop in Bogda Pul area of Bhopal ever since 1979.

Though Praveen's life has drastically changed after he joined the Anna movement in 2011 and subsequently joining AAP,  his father Deshmukh's life did not change. In spite of his son being MLA and another son a software engineer, Deshmukh did not leave his profession. Praveen Kumar got elected as an MLA for the first time in 2015 and his father kept working at his shop. Deshmukh has two aides, Razzaq and Vijay from many years and they have continued working with him until today. When asked him, "How can I leave my work? Everything I have today is because of this shop," Deshmukh told.

Talking about his childhood, Deshmukh reminisces that his father, who was a herbal local doctor in Betul district, shifted to Bhopal after his demise. Soon after, Deshkmukh set up the flat tyre shop. In fact, the legislator, Praveen would also work at the shop in his school days. "My son is still a simple man and lives in a small, rented house in Delhi," said Deshmukh. It is indeed an inspiring and remarkable story of PN Deshmukh who choose to live a simple and hardworking life over fame and money.
