#IndvsNZ: Rahul, Shreyas power team India to victory

Team India has started off their New Zealand tour with a winning note. The first T20 international was held in Auckland on Friday and it was a high scoring game.

Having won the toss, Virat Kohli invited the hosts to bat first. Kiwis batsmen started off well and hit Indian bowlers with boundary every now and then. Colin Munro, captain Kane Williamson and Ross Taylor scored fifties and put a score of 203 runs for the loss of five wickets in their innings.

Batting second, India did not make a great start as Rohit Sharma was sent to pavilion for just seven runs. Rahul with captain Kohli built the innings. Rahul departed after scoring half century while Kohli fell five runs short of half century. In came Shreyas Iyer who took on the Blackcaps bowlers and smashed 58 runs of 29 balls with five fours and three sixes.

In the end, India chases the target with an over to spare. Shreyas was rewarded with Man of the Match for his outrageous batting.

The second T20 international is scheduled on Sunday i.e, January 26th.
