#JusticeForPriyankaReddy: Three cops suspended

India is ashamed, upset and mourning with the recent 26-year-old Priyanka Reddy's rape and murder, one of the most brutal cases ever in the nation. Recalling the dark memories of 2012's Nirbhaya, the latest Hyderabad's Nirbhaya is telling us that nothing has changed in terms of cruel mentalities in the past 7 years.

Priyanka Reddy's family, yesterday, revealed that police showed apathy and told that the girl might have eloped with someone, when the family member initially went for filing a missing case. The victim's sister who went to seek for police help late in the night at RGIA PS, the cops asked her to go Shamshabad PS citing the jurisdiction issues.

On Saturday night, Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar suspended three policemen. In a press note, it was said that the three policemen - sub-inspector M Ravi Kumar, head constable P Venugopal Reddy and head constable A Sathyanarayana Goud - of RGIA police station was suspended till further orders. "On Saturday a detailed enquiry was conducted on the dereliction of duty on delaying the registration of First Information Report (FIR) related to the missing woman of Shamshabad police station on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday," Sajjanar said.

The family said while grieving that they waited nearly three hours in trying to roam from one police station to "Since we were asked to move from one police station to another. " The police also spoke in an improper manner," the family members alleged. After suspending three cops on the alleged delaying of FIR registration, the commissioner ordered all the officers of Cyberabad police to register the case irrespective of jurisdiction whenever they receive a complaint. And also, to show compassion and amicability towards those who come to file complaints.

But that's not the case, thousands of angry protestors sat outside Shadnagar police station, an area where Priyanka Reddy was murdered, and they threw stones and slippers on the PS for not letting them in. From there, protesters went to Chanchalguda and hurled at the police vehicle in which the accused were being taken to the jail in Hyderabad.
