This Restaurant Serves Biryani For 5 Paise

Yesterday, on the occasion of World Food Day which falls on October 16, a restaurant in Chennai touched everyone's hearts with its unexpected gesture. Sheik Mujibur Rahman, the owner of Mujib Biryani, distributed 600 gms of chicken biryani with raita and dalcha for just 5 paise to the poor.

Nearly 150 people, including 50 women and children, thronged to Mujib Biryani in Dindigul, Chennai, yesterday to savour the 5 paise biryani, which they couldn't afford earlier as it costs Rs 90. What's amusing is that all the people had to search hard for the 5 paise coins which got lost somewhere in their homes.

Mujib's 5 paise biryani was a move to create awareness on the importance of preserving and maintaining old valuable things. It all started with his visit to the ancient archaeological excavation.
