An 80-year-old former Lok Sabha MP from Narasaraopet Parliamentary Constituency was murdered by his grandson. The gruesome incident was reported in Guntur.
According to police, the former MP and TDP leader Kota Saidaiah's body was found in pool of blood in his residence. Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim's grandson Anji slit the throat of Saidaiah using a sharp knife and fled the scene immediately.
The accused was in an inebriated condition when the incident occurred. Police launched hunt to nab Anji whose whereabouts are yet to be known.
Saidaiah won MP seat against Congress candidate Kasu Krishna Reddy in 1996 elections with a margin of 2000 votes only.
