Fate! Chiddu Slept At CBI Office, Inaugurated by Him In 2011

Back in 2011, senior Congress leader Chidambaram was the Union Home Minister. As HM he inaugurated the new headquarters of CBI at Lodhi Road in New Delhi and after eight years, Chidambaram had spent a night in the same building as an accused. What a turned around in Chiddu's fate.

In the UPA 1 and 2 governments, Chidambaram was a central minister and played a crucial role. He got current Home Minister Amit Shah arrested and now Chidambaram is paying the price for it. Under dramatic circumstances, Chidambaram was detained by the CBI in connection with INX Media case.

After disappearing for nearly 18 hours, Chidambaram was spotted at Congress party office in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. Getting to know that Chidambaram is in his residence in Jor Bagh, CBI reached there. For some time the atmosphere was tense with Congress party workers staging a protest. With the help of Delhi Police, CBI detained Chidambaram. He was taken to RML hospital for medical tests initially and later to CBI headquarters. He spent the whole night there with CBI officials.

With this, Chidambaram became the first Congress leader to get arrested after holding top positions like Union Finance and Home minister.
