'Support Modi govt Decision': Indian Associations Ask Trump

After the abrogation of Article 370, Indian govt is now getting support from its NRI unions and the some associations have called upon the United States President Donald Trump to lend support for Indian government's decision to reorganize Jammu and Kashmir.

Hindu American Foundation (HAF) MD Sameer Kalra, who along with a delegation met Trump in US, revealed that 'we made an appeal to the US president to restrain Pakistan that is supporting terrorism and it might help to resolve Kashmir issue permanently'. He further said scrapping of Article 370 and 35A are key decisions taken by Indian government which would apparently help to end Kashmir problem.

Speaking about crucial bill passed in parliament, Overseas Friends of BJP (OFBJP) chief Krishna Reddy said that it is PM Modi's gift to the nation on occasion of 73rd Independence Day. He has opined that Modi has corrected Nehru's historic mistake and said 'welcoming the decision by PM, OFBJP planned celebrations for the next couple of days.'

Many Indian American associations stated that abolishing Article 370 could bring in the peace in Kashmir valley. Also, London based Indo-European Kashmir Forum (IEKF) and Ottawa based Indo-Canadian Kashmir Forum have welcomed the Modi government's decision.
