After receiving a lot of flak, outrage, and opposition over his comments, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has come forward to give clarity on his latest statements on love. Actors like Samantha, Chinmayi Sripada, Anasuya, and Jwala Gutta have slammed the filmmaker when he said: 'if you don't slap each other, there is no love'.
In one of his recent interviews with film companion Anupama Chopra, Sandeep claimed that 'If you can't slap or touch your woman wherever you want, and if you can't slap, you can't kiss, you cant use cuss words, I don't see the emotion there'. The statement has garnered a lot of hatred and anger. On this, the filmmaker said that the media has misinterpreted and misquoted his statements and took him completely wrong. 'Go, watch it and enjoy. If you don't like the film, then fine. You took me completely wrong. I spoke for both sides. But sadly, they are quoting in a very wrong way,' he added.
He fired on media for blaming him unnecessarily by calling him misogynist and assault of women. Moreover, he also slammed those who called Kabir Singh a violent film. He said that 'probably they never experienced love in the right way'. However, the director has also managed to gain a lot of supporters. Controversial filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma has come forward and tweeted that Sandeep is the most honest and truthful man ever. Not only him, but the director also gained huge support from netizens and 'We support Sandeep Reddy Vanga' hashtag trended for a long time. His fans also went on to troll women for expressing feminist views.
