Nizamabad poll to enter Guinness book record?

As we know how India evolved from paper ballots to EVMs for all types of elections fifteen years ago(1998). The recent LS polls made ECI return to paper and stamps in Nizamabad constituency. The mammoth 185 candidates have filed nominations and the news grabbed everyone's attention. This caused a particular strange problem as an EVM can only accommodate 16 candidates.

Now, it is likely to make it to the Guinness World Records. The reason is for the first time ever in the history, 12 humongous ballot units at each polling station were used. The previous record was the usage of four ballot units for conducting polling. These big-sized EVMs have been used in each of the 1,778 polling booths there.

The ECI had to go for the additional purchase of 26,820 big EVMs for 1.5 million voters in Nizamabad. The question has been raised on how did so many candidates showed up. Out of 185 candidates in Nizamabad, 178 were of turmeric farmers, who cultivates turmeric and red jowar. They have filed nominations as independents as a part of protest.
