Nope, this is not any scheme devised by the government to make sure all the people will turn up for voting, but this is something private bodies are doing.
Today some constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are going for a vote and some hospitals in Meerut city have given a distinct offer for them. For people who are going to vote today, if they produce their voter ID card and showcase the indelible ink mark on their finger, they are likely to get 50% discount in consultation fee. Also, they have offered a 20% discount on MRI and other scans too. The offer will be applicable for the next couple of days also as almost 1500 doctors agreed to this.
At the same time, as Tamilnadu is going to vote on April 18th, Hotel Associations of the state has taken a decision to give 10-20% off on food for 3 days from the polling day for the people who have voted in the election. Even Telugu states also offered this discount, but only a few hotels have done it.
Some jewelry shops, few medical shops and some fuel stations are also offering 10-15% discounts on various things for people who have voted. Hope these offers will increase the poll-percentage.
