In a bid to honour Indian Air Force pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, the Rajasthan state government has proposed to add the bravery of Abhinandan part of school syllabus.
The state's education minister Govind Singh Dotasra came up with the idea as Abhinandan pursued his primary education in Jodhpur. In fact the Rajasthan government had plans to include the tragedy of Pulwama attack part of the syllabus and appointed a review committee as well to look into the possibilities. Now they have just decided to take up Abhinandan's bravery.
However, which classes where Wing Commander Abhinandan's story will be studied is yet to be known. Most probably by the next academic year, Abhinandan story would be part of textbooks, said a source.
Last week Wing Commander Abhinandan shot down a Pakistani F-16 warplane with MiG 21. He was captured by Pakistan armed forces and later released as a gesture of peace.
