Now it is law that a Ten percent of government jobs will be reserved for economically weak people, according to criteria mentioned by the govt.

Though the opposition and allies criticized the bill as a election gimmick amid negativity all over, no major political party opposed the bill directly. According to the amendment to the constitution, the law applies to people with an annual income below Rs 8 Lakh and owning a land fewer than five acres land.

The unemployment rate has gone 15 month high in last month and with elections in less than six months from now, this law gained its prominence. Though it applies to all religions, the new public sector job quota and reservations on govt colleges are expected to benefit the Hindu caste system upper echelons, usually the large voter base of BJP.
