The Accidental Prime Minister movie based on former PM Manmohan Singh released on Friday. Irrespective of whether it is a hit or flop, the movie has certainly created a storm in political circles with Congress leaders claiming it as an attempt by BJP to present Gandhi family in a poor light.
Now Congress has found a friend in Mamata Banerjee, as West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress president found fault with The Accidental Prime Minister movie.
Speaking after launching a theatre festival in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee questioned the timing of the release of The Accidental Prime Minister movie ahead of general elections for Loksabha. In an indirect reference to BJP leadership, Mamata Banerjee said that Accidental Prime Minister movie is released before elections to distort facts which is not right. West Bengal CM did not stop there. Though not taking name, she came down heavily on PM Narendra Modi.
"Those who are making all drama over The Accidental Prime Minister movie, should watch Disastrous PM. Disastrous PM movie will be surely made in the future. No one will be spared," said Mamata in an obvious reference to PM Modi as a disastrous PM. In a veiled reference, Didi also termed PM Modi as Gabbar Singh, whom people fear. She launched a personal attack on Narendra Modi saying that he cannot even smile and speak nicely.
