Modi's Foreign Trips Costed Rs 2,021 Cr

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's foreign trips, from June 2014 to till date, costed the national exchequer a whopping money. As per announcement made by  Minister of State for  External Affairs V.K Singh in the Parliament yesterday, Rs 2,021 Crore were spent on PM's chartered flights, maintenance, hotline facilities and other travel expenditures.

Replying to one of the query, V.K Singh informed the house that PM visted 55 nations in 48 foreign trips during his time in office so far. The minister also has highlighted that the foreign direct investments had seen a good jump in this period (from $ 30,930.5 million in 2014 to $43478.27 million in 2017). Singh also reported that the foreign trip expenses of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was around Rs 1,346 crores.

According to the data provided in house, Rs 1583 Crore was spend on the maintenance of PM Modi aircraft and Rs 429.25 Crore was spent on special chartered flights during the last 4+ years. Earlier in the month of July this year, an RTI query has revealed that 1,484 Crore has been incurred on Modi's foreign trips.
