Departing from his usual demeanour, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on the greatness of India and its inclusive culture.
In a tweet directed at Imran Khan, giving a suggestion on how to treat minorities, he said "According to the Pakistani Constitution, only a Muslim is qualified to be President. India has seen multiple Presidents from oppressed communities. It's high time Khan sahab learns something from us about inclusive politics & minority rights."
Asaduddin's made the comments after Imran Khan responded to Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah's remarks on how India has become unsafe for minorities. Khan said that "We will show the Modi government how to treat minorities. Even in India, people are saying that minorities are not being treated as equal citizens," he added.
Asad's comments on Indian diversity have won him lot of appreciation from netizens. Despite being one of the strongest critics of the Modi government for being divisive, many netizens applauded him for standing by the country at the right time and recognising how its diversity is its strength. Like Asad said, may be, it is time for Pakistan to learn a lesson or two from India!
