Controversy hits Indian women cricket team

A controversy has hit the Indian women cricket team as leading T20 runs scorer Mithali Raj has been dropped from the semi-final battle in the T20 world cup. This was a shocker to many and the team had to pay the price eventually by crashing out of the title race.

However, T20 captain Harmanpreet Kaur defended her decision to bench the senior most player after the losing the game in the post-match presentation.

Mithali's manager Annisha Gupta openly criticised Harmanpreet and used some harsh words. Annisha took in on her official Twitter handle and write Harmanpeet is manipulative, lying, immature, undeserving captain. Also slamming the BCCI, she said that it (BCCI) supports politics instead of sport.

Surprisingly Annisha has deleted her Twitter handle as the tweets went viral but backed herself in this whole episode.

So far Mithali Raj did not make any official comment on this issue while BCCI too did not seek any sort of explanation from the team management. The decision to drop Mithali ahead of a crucial match was also questioned by popular commentator Harsha Bhogle and ex-cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar.
