China launches World's first AI news anchor

With emerging technologies and new age developments, the world is growing rapidly in all directions. Automation, Robotics and Artificial Intelligence are assisting scientists design some extremely appalling devices in various fields. In China, the state run TV agency 'Xinhua' launched an AI (Artificial intelligence) anchor and referred to it as 'first of its kind in the world'.

Having debuted as 'English AI anchor' at World internet conference on Thursday, the AI news presenter does some impeccable job that include learning directly from live videos, ablilty to work 24 hours a day and at the same time reporting via social media.

This artificial presenter has been designed as a look-alike of Xinhua's news anchor Zhang Zhao. In its first broadcast, the AI anchor said: "The development of the media industry calls for continuous innovation and deep integration with the international advanced technologies" and added "I will work tirelessly to keep you informed as texts will be typed into my system uninterrupted. I look forward to bringing you the brand new news experiences."

The AI industry has been facing lot of flak from researchers as it may likely see some challenges in next few years- including loss of jobs and unintended discrimination. The introduction of AI in the media industry is a revolution in many ways and the same time, chips in a fear of job loses for existing journalists.
