To promote a big film, one has to come up with some new strategies. While Tollywood still depends on usual TV interviews, game shows, and pre-release events, Bollywood is using other means of promotions along with these conventional ideas.
Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan
have joined hands together for 'Thugs Of Hindostan' which is releasing
in Hindi, Telugu and other languages tomorrow. To promote the film, now
the makers have made Amir's character in the film, Firangi, as a mascot
that appears in Google maps. We see a direction pointing arrow as our
navigation marker in the maps app, and now, we have the option of
Firangi, who is riding a horse, as our marker.
Already many are experiencing this and feeling happy for that short change. Maybe in Telugu, upcoming films like 'Sye Raa' could avail such marketing techniques to make sure that the film reaches the corners of the world. They say that the likes of Rajamouli will be exploring such unique ideas very soon.
Directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya of Dhoom 3 fame, Thugs Of Hindostan features Aamir Khan, Amitabh, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Sheikh in the leads.
