Rare whisky sold for a record price of $1.1 million

A day ago, the most valuable bottle of whisky in the world is auctioned in Edinburgh in England. A bottle of 60-year-old The Macallan Valerio Adami 1926 is the most expensive whisky sold for $1.1 million.

Macallan are the best-known Speyside distiller of Scotland's flagship product. The identity of the whisky is not disclosed but he is said to be an Asian and did the bidding on phone.

There are only 12 such bottles of this rare spirit with particular design and this limited edition's label was designed  and signed by Italian artist Valerio Adami, hence the name 'The Macallan Valerio Adami.' They were bottled in the year 1986 and one is said to have destroyed in the 2011 earthquake in Japan.
