Telugu Guy's Searching Ends In 54+ Million Dollars

From last two months, the name of one Anish Chaganty, an Asian American, is very much in the news. This is because of his film "Searching" trailer taking YouTube by a storm and then the film also did the same at the box office.

Anish happens to be the son of a Telugu couple who settled in the USA around the 1980s. Born and brought up in Redmond, Washington, he graduated in Film Studies and worked at Google for a couple of years, making ads for the search engine giant. And then he debuted as a director with "Searching" movie.

The movie deals with a father's ordeal whose teenage daughter goes missing. And finally, the big twists that come ahead in the thriller have surprised the audiences big time. Shot on a shoe-string budget, the film collected 54+ million dollars from the box office after it released last month. That's a stupendous success we have to say.

The young Telugu origin director who visits his hometown near Bhimavaram in West Godavari once in a while says that Maniratnam's Bombay, Dil Chahta Hai and Telugu movie 'Anukokunda Oka Raju' are his all-time favourite Indian films. And for "Searching", where he had relatively new casting, he says that Aamir Khan would suit the role well if the film is made in India.
