Another distasteful news for the spouses of H-1B visa holders in US. The spouses of H1B holders will not be allowed to work in the country as the Trump administration is likely to make a decision within three months on revoking work permits.
On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security told a Federal court to curb authorisation of employment opportunities for the said category non-Americans. It may be recalled that the department had first recommended scrapping of work permits for workers' spouses in December 2017.
The move will be affecting Indians who comprise about 70 percent of all H1B holders in the country where many of them work for information technology industry.
The proposal to remove regulations for eligibility of employment authorisation is making swift progress, the Department told a Federal court. The new rule will be submitted to the White House within three months.
