Overcrowded Boat Capsized, more than 136 Killed

In what could be the world's biggest tragedy in the recent years, more than 136 people died when the overcrowded boat capsized in the South African country of Tanzania.

It is learnt that the ferry is carrying nearly 400 people. The capacity of the boat is only 100. So far 80 people were rescued from the Africa's largest Lake Victoria where the incident happened.

The boat was traveling from Bugolora to Ukara island when it capsized 200 meters from its destination. Since Thursday is a market day , many of the passengers are traveling to Gulio market to buy goods.

In the poor Tanzania, the incidents of boat capsizing are common. It was the first time in the last one decade that such a big tragic incident was reported.
