Racism: Indian family offloaded from British flight

In a bizarre and unfortunate incident, Indian family was off-loaded from London-Berlin bound flight of British Airways, in a case of alleged racial discrimination.

The family of an Indian bureaucrat was off-loaded from the flight when their three-year-old son was crying while being ferried in taxi to the runway. The passenger alleged that his kid began crying inconsolably due to the rude behavior from a cabin crew member.

Although the incident occurred on July 23, the bureaucrat complained to Union Minister for Civil Aviation Suresh Prabhu on Thursday. Replying promptly, the Minister directed the DGCA to get a detailed report from British Airways over the incident.

Meanwhile, the British Airways too said in a statement that it would not tolerate any such incidents that bring disrepute to the airways. A full investigation has been launched into the incident, it stated.
