Unable to bear the tragic news of Dravidian stalwart Karunanidhi's demise, two loyal followers of the DMK patriarch passed away due to heart attack. Subramanian and Rajendran, senior cadres of the DMK party in Nagapattinam district, reportedly breathed their last late evening.
Ever since Karunanidhi was hospitalized on July 29, millions of followers and DMK cadres across Tamil Nadu have been anxiously praying for the legendary politician's speedy recovery. All these days and even after Kalaigner's passing away, none of the cadres resorted to violence, displaying the ultimate mark of respect for their 'Ayya'.
Meanwhile, the Chief Justice of Madras High Court is currently hearing the petition filed by the DMK, requesting permission to perform Karunanidhi's last rites at the Marina Beach in Chennai. Karunanidhi's mortal remains have been kept at his Gopalapuram residence. Tomorrow, the mortal remains will be taken to the Rajaji Hall for the public to pay their last respects.
Karunanidhi's funeral will be held tomorrow. Several national leaders, including PM Narendra Modi, Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Delhi CM Arvind Kerjriwal, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Telangana CM KCR and AP CM Nara Chandrababu Naidu and many others will be paying their homage to the departed political giant.
