Once a star heroine, Bommarillu beauty Genelia married her longtime beau Ritesh Deshmukh in 2012 and retired from films temporarily. And then, Ritesh rose to stardom as a hero, villain and comedian, and carved a huge image for himself in Bollywood as well as Marathi films.
For the uninitiated, Ritesh is the son of former Congress CM of Maharashtra, late Vilasrao Deshmukh. While Ritesh other two brothers are continuing their father's legacy in politics, he felt that films are his cup of tea. Last year also he made it clear that there are no political intentions on his mind now.
But the latest report from Mumbai circles is doing rounds that Ritesh will contest for MP seat from his native Latur constituency on Congress ticket for the 2019 general elections. Though the actor hasn't commented on this, the buzz is strong that he's wrapping his current film commitments to make sure that he will take some work related to the developments in the area.
Looks like 2019 is quickly becoming the year of film celebs trying their luck in politics with the likes of Pawan Kalyan, Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan, Upendra and Ritesh Deshmukh joining the race.
