MP's Mother Gets Key Post in TDP

Guntur MP Galla Jaydev's mother and former minister Galla Aruna has been nominated as politburo member of the ruling Telugu Desam in Andhra Pradesh.

The sudden elevation of Aruna in the party has put the end the speculations that the senior most leader from Chittoor district will bid adieu to active politics due to personal reasons soon. At present, she is TDP in-charge to Chandragiri Assembly constituency.

Aruna held several key portfolios in former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, K Rosaiah and N Kiran kumar Reddy governments in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. She shifted loyalties to TDP before 2014 elections. Her son was given party ticket and won from Guntur.

Reports say Aruna will contest from Chandragiri in 2019 elections also. She was inducted in the politburo aiming to consolidate the party in Chittoor district where YSR Congress was giving tough fight to TDP.
