A major fire broke out in Mumbai's Beaumonte Towers which is located in the posh Prabhadevi area of Dadar region. The fire broke out in the 33rd floor of the towers today afternoon around 2.10 PM that sent shock wave given that usually high measures are taken in such luxurious apartments.
Going into details, it all began when the fire first erupted on the two uppermost floors 32 and 33 of the building, and thick black clouds of smoke were soon spotted. Later, after nearly three hours, the flames started spreading on to the lower floors creating panic among the flat owners who include several celebrities including from the business and glamour world.
More than two dozen fire-tenders, including sophisticated lifts and cranes, have been deployed to fight the fire.
Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who also lives in the same apartment on the 26th floor, took to Twitter to clarify to all her fans, well-wishers that she is safe. She had even prayed for the well-being of the other residents and firefighters.
Fortunately, there were no causalities in the incident and people heaved a huge sigh of relief. The Bombay Municipal Corporation is looking into the issue.
