It's a season of biopics both in Tollywood and Bollywood. After Mahanati, NTR Biopic and YSR Biopic (Yatra) are underway. In Hindi, the biopic of Sanjay Dutt, Sanju, is ready for release.
As elections are approaching, Modi Bhakts are gearing up for a biopic on Narendra Modi. Although it has been announced a year ago, the film somehow didn't take off.
Paresh Rawal, who will be essaying the role of Modi in the biopic besides producing the film, has clarified that the film is very much on and the script work is currently going on. He said the film's script would be locked by August 15 and the film's shoot would begin in September or October. He admitted that portraying Modi on screen is very challenging. Paresh's last production was Oh My God which he had produced with his good friend Akshay Kumar.
Paresh Rawal is a BJP leader and MP. While he will be seen as Sunil Dutt in Rajkumar Hirani's Sanju, he had played the character of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the biopic Sardar in 1994. So, Paresh is not new to biopics. Yet, all eyes are on Modi's biopic. Given there is anti-Modi wave riding across country and BJP is on downward spiral going by the results of recent polls, one has to wait and see how Modi's biopic would really received by people ahead of 2019 general elections.
