Malayalam actress Sanusha, who is known to Telugu audiences as Baby Sanusha in Pawan Kalyan’s Bangaram and later introduced as heroine in Telugu with Ohmkar’s Genius, was allegedly molested on train from Kannur to Thiruvananthapuram. The incident took place on Wednesday night (Jan 31, 2018) on the Maveli Express when Sanusha was traveling to Thiruvananthapuram. According to news reports, Anto Bose, who belongs to Kanyakumari, allegedly tried to molest her.
Going into details, Sanusha woke up to the shock (at around 1 AM) that a man in the opposite berth is feeling her lips. Sanusha caught his hand strongly and twisted his hand and yelled at him. While the man (identified as Anto Bose) tried to beg Sanusha not to make “big issue”, she turned on the light and screemed. However, shockingly, no one in the compartment came to her support except two passengers – writer Unni, and one Ranjith. Sanusha is apparently shocked with the incident. She has later complained to the TT (Travelling Ticket) examiner who later informed the Railway police about the incident.
Based on her complaint, the accused, 40-year-old was arrested by 1.30 am when the Thiruvanathapuram-bound Maveli express reached Thrissur station. He was arrested under IPC section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and remanded to judicial custody till February 15. Sanusha, who spoke to media later, said, “It was really sad to say that nobody came to my help. The other passengers had pretended to be asleep.” Sanusha said that if she had put up this as status on Facebook, she would had been flooded with support saying ‘I’m with Sanusha’ and many others even changing their ‘display picture’ in support of her. Whereas, Sanusha wanted the woman members in the compartment to respond. She also asked many woman to follow her and speak up such issues publicly. She said she is speaking up to inspire many women who face such situations.
It can be recalled that Dangal actress Zaira Wasim was allegedly molested on New Delhi-Mumbai flight earlier in December 2017.
